X: I bid you peace and safety, Damah, man of worldly thoughts. I welcome you to the world of absolutes. What say you?

H: Who are you? Where am I?

X: Not who, but what. You are where you have always been. Where you are meant to be.

H: What are you then?

X: Neither friend nor foe.

H: A mere passing stranger?

X: I am no more strange than the very air you breathe. Your knowledge of me is much so within your grasp, that I cannot be strange to you.

H: What is your name?

X: I have not a single name. I am of endless names, and I fear you shall not live long enough to speak them all.

H: You say you are neither friend nor foe…

X: Yes.

H: Then…  you are truth.

X: Very good, Damah.

H: Why do you address me with that name?

X: It is your name, is it not?

H: I was named Hamad, a name my grandfather bore before me.

X: I have spoken that same name. You did not listen.

H: But I do not understand. They are not the same.

X: Speak the name that I have spoken.

H: Damah.

X: Is it not your name?

H: It bears the very letters and number of letters within my own. And…

X: Is it not your name?

H: Inversed… it is my name, but inversed… why do you speak it as such?

X: It is fitting. I was here long before you. I am the beginning, and your end is inevitable. I shall speak from an imminent truth towards a truth long before that.

H: I understand… if but barely. Why am I here?

X: Do not belittle me, Damah, nor test me. I shall not give you answers that lie well within your reach.

H: What question shall you have me ask?

X: What question shall you have me answer?

H: I ask that you may leave me be!

X: To your perception, be it so mortal, is it not ill to step into the world of absolutes and ask the truth to leave?

H: I…

X: You…

H: I can see that I was wrong. I ask that you may forgive me.

X: Your ignorance is long forgiven.

H: How can it be that you are this fair?

X: The truth must be fair.

H: I see… I have not a question for you, for there are no questions that I need ask you.

X: Then you have come to understand.

H: I have.

X: Very well, Damah, what say you?

H: I thank you.

X: Very good, Damah.

  1. This post was.. I can’t find the right word.. Humbling?
It was very honest.. The more we search and the more we learn, the more we come to realize, we know nothing. It’s just bigger than we’ve ever imagined.. When you come to think of it, even our imagination has limits and it’s still bigger than that.

    Loved your post :)

    • Hello Coconut! ^_^

I am ever grateful for your kind words =) and thus, I thank you!

It’s great to hear an artist’s perspective on something like this =) you process reality through imagination, and the transformation thereafter is subject to your choices, and most often, your knowledge.

I wonder, if you were to attain all-knowledge, what your canvas would look like. ^_^

      Philosophical absolutes are tricky though…
If you and I both agree that our imagination is limited, then the opposing absolute is that our imagination is unlimited, and either can be true.

To clarify, if we were born with upside down vision. Then to us, thereafter, the phrase “upside down” becomes our current-state vision. Which is why one can never be conclusive of an absolute, or any other absolute for that matter. o_O *scratches head*

      Yeah! Hahah…
      I love my job!

Anyway heheh, I guess what I’m trying to say is, infinity is an absolute, and relativity is the scale that is in awe of it.

      Infinity – 1 = X

In terms of X, it is only 1 number away from being infinite. But we still shall never come to determine the value of this specific X.

      Why?

Because we’ve decided that infinity is unattainable. It has no measure. And thus, we cannot relatively determine X. Not ever! x_O

      So how is this related?
Frankly, I’m not quite sure hahah!

But the concept does scare me. If infinity does exist, then the relative state of our existence is infinitely unimportant.

      -

In the past, one could not see beyond the horizon. Now, an observatory allows you to look into the depths of space. Telescopes were born of our imagination.

If our limits are constantly being broken (more or less), then this leads me to think that the problem is, and most likely always has been, time.

And time is a dimension beyond the three imminent ones that we have gradually scaled (height, width, and depth).

And of this, the only logical thing that I could conclude, is that time is the only infinite entity. Nothing else. But that creates problems for me elsewhere. x_O

I’m probably the wrongest person ever.
      But who knows? ^_^

Thanks Coconut! My apologies for the unnecessary blabber! x_O

  2. hahaha I got all confused at first and then started to grasp it a little when I read it again.. It is a scary concept though. It makes sense that time would be infinite, it’s just us humans, we’re slow :P

You said: “To clarify, if we were born with upside down vision.”

    Actually……
The images formed on our retina is in fact, upside down.. The brain inverts it so we are able to function :P .. Makes you wonder doesn’t it? If only I could remember how I saw things when I was just born. Our whole world was literally upside down heh :P

    • Hahah ^_^ I think someone pointed that out to me when I was younger, I guess I wasn’t paying attention but wow! ^_^ Thank you!

      It’s definitely mind boggling!

So our understanding of upside down is in fact the actual state of how we’re seeing everything!

      Amazing o_O

      Thanks again Coconut! ^_^
